Most full door replacements take 3-5 hours. This includes removing the old door and hardware, installing new panels, springs, cables, and tracks, then testing the balance and opener compatibility before we leave.
Steel doors with polyurethane insulation perform best in Colorado's extreme temperature swings, hail, and UV exposure. They resist warping and denting far better than wood or aluminum, while maintaining excellent insulation values through hot summers and cold winters.
A like-for-like door replacement in the same opening typically does not require a permit. However, if you're changing the size of the opening or making structural modifications, a permit may be required. We advise on this during your free consultation.
For attached garages in Colorado, we recommend at least R-12 to help regulate temperature and reduce energy costs. For detached garages, R-6 to R-9 is usually sufficient. Higher R-values make a noticeable difference if your garage is used as a workspace or connected to living areas.
