Not every garage door replacement starts with years of wear and tear. This one started with a driveway accident. Our crew was recently out in Frederick, CO to replace a door that came out on the losing end of a run-in with the homeowner's own vehicle.
The Problem
The homeowner backed into the garage door, catching it mid-panel. The impact bent two of the horizontal sections and knocked the door out of alignment in its frame, leaving it hanging crooked with visible creases across the panels. Once a door is bent and twisted like this, it's not a cosmetic issue - it won't travel on its tracks safely, and patching the dented sections wasn't an option.
The door after the accident - bent panels and knocked out of alignment in the frame.
The Fix
With damage this severe, a full door replacement was the right call rather than trying to straighten and patch the old one. We removed the damaged door completely and installed a new carriage-style door with the same classic panel look and decorative hardware the homeowner already liked - plus fresh tracks, rollers, and a spring adjustment set for the new door's weight.
The Result
Straight panel lines, a door that sits flush and square in the frame, and no sign anything ever happened. The homeowner was relieved to see it looking brand new again.
Homeowner: "Honestly, I thought there'd be some sign of it - a mismatched panel, a seam that didn't line up. It just looks brand new. I'm really happy with how clean it came out."
Our Tech: "That's exactly what we want to hear. Glad we could get it looking right again - enjoy the new door!"
